PATNA - In the area called Karnaldah near Gulzarbagh railway station, is a high mound of brick ruins on which stand two jain temple of medieval period. On the one of them is an inscription dated V.S 1848 (A.D) which records that the temple was constructed by the whole congregation living at ‘patriputra’ and dedicated to sri sthulabhadra. Place of interest - Kamaldah, Golghar, Harmandirji, Jalan museum, Agam kuan, Planetorium, Sanjay Gandhi Biological park.********** PAWAPURI -The place pawapuri situated about 4.5 kms north of girlak and is famous amongst the jains as the place where they say,the last of their Tirthankaras died in the 6th century B.C. Place of interest - Jalmandir, Samosaran.********** KUNDALPUR - close to the ruins of ancient Nalanda University a new beautiful Jaisalmer stone temple stands at Kundalpur which houses statues of lord Mahavira, Adinath Swami and Gautam Gandharva. This place is believed to be the birth place of Gautam Gandharva , the first disciple of Lord Mahavira. Place of interest - Shwetamber jain temple.*********** RAJGIR - Few Jain temples are also situated on the hilltop of Rajgir where Jains used to worship their deity. Place of Interest- Shwetamber Jain temple , Digamber Jain temple , Ropeway , Sone-Bhandar , Venuvan Hot water spring. Manyar Math, Bimbisar ka jail , Viraytan , Jarasandh ka akkhara , Replica , wheel of Lord Krishna’s Chariot.*************** GONAVA JEE - About a mile north of Nawada on Patna Ranchi road , lies Gonava village , it is a place of pilgrimage for the jains of both sects. The Digamber Jain temple , is just by the side of main road while the Shwetamber jain temple is at the back of it . the Digamber Jain temple built in the 1925 is quite beautiful. Place of interest – Digamber Jain temple , Shwetamber Jain temple*************LACHHUAR - The village is situated about 6.5 kms south of sikandra in the jamui district. Two Jain temples , known as ‘muth Buddhroop’ and ‘muth pursunath’ situated some 5kms south of the village in a picturesque vally between two parallel ranges of hills. In each of these shrines is a small statue of Lord Mahavira, one of which dates back to sambat 1505 while the other appears to be older. Place of interest – ‘Muth Buddhroop’ , ‘Muth Parsunath.************* CHAMPANAGAR – The city of champa, as capital of ancient kingdom of anga is found frequently mentioned in ancient Indian literature .
